Q: Mehrdad, what does your role as sales and quality director involve? How long have you been working in this sector.
I work in business development by creating new opportunities and general maintenance of existing sales for Seward Precision. I have been working in this sector since 1981.
Q: What is your favourite part of your job? And what do you find to be the main challenges?
Customer satisfaction and making profit are my favourite parts of the job. At Seward Precision customers are our biggest priority, and so it is important for us to work together with them at every step of every project. By working on profit, we can also ensure that we can continue to invest in our business, in our machines and our staff.
The main challenges are, I believe, quite similar to many other businesses; customer retention and winning new orders. Our current customers trust our skills, but sometimes it can be hard to show to others we haven’t worked with how good our services are.
Q: What makes Seward a good place to work?
Seward Precision is family owned with a friendly company culture. We care about our employees and are flexible enough to understand that real life can sometimes be unexpected. It is an incredible experience to be a part of this team.
Q: How have you seen the business grow over the years?
We work in a very competitive market, which can be challenging. Nevertheless, we have been able to grow as a business by supplying many valued customers with exactly what they need. We have worked hard over the years to show our customers how we can meet their standards and deliver a quality product that meets their needs, on time, every time.
Q: In your opinion, what is the key to Seward’s growth?
For us, customer expectation is the key. We make every effort to maintain an excellent relationship with our customers, we value their feedback, and we always guarantee 100% satisfaction. As well as a good relationship with current customers, we also look into expanding our customer base. We build on our experience as a business and invest in our staff. And we continue to improve on what we are good at already.
